  20. I have a 3Xe, and have been satisfied with it.  It has been used with an 
  21. A1200 with a Dataflyer, an A4000 with a Warp Engine, and a Pentium system 
  22. through Adaptec and NCR SCSI interfaces with no problems.

  24. Of course they are now selling for half what I paid...Many people will
  25. probably dislike the caddies that it uses, but I actually find them kind
  26. of handy.

  28. The 3Xe is a triple-speed external drive, and they are selling for
  29. something like $150 now.  However, JEM is selling refurb Sony double-speed
  30. external drives for $49, and I think they do not use caddies.  (I've dealt
  31. with JEM a fair amount, and they seem trustworthy.  Their phone number is

  34. The GVP controller could be a problem.  It seems like GVP used three or 
  35. four ways to terminate the board, some easily removable and some not.  
  36. And apparently some driver revisions have trouble with some CD-ROM 
  37. drives, which is one of the things the Guru-ROM is supposed to solve.
